Washington D.C. Day 1

We made it! We arrived at Cherry Hill Campground around 3:30 p.m. yesterday.
What a nice place! Our site is very close to the bathroom (which is very nice in the middle of the night!) and has a nice shady tree next to it. The children really enjoyed the pool( it's heated) and hot tub last night. Also we had the most delicious meal of Chicken Catacatorie, not your normal camping meal! After playing some card games till 10:00 p.m. we realized that Grammy's suitcase had not been brought. So off Dad,Noah, and I went to go back home (only a 2 hour trip one way) to pick up her clothes and some other mis. stuff we missed. We got back at 2:30 a.m. only to get up at 5:30 a.m. to get ready to go into the city for our first tour. Dad chauffeured us to all the locations that we visited today. The tour was for the Library of Congress at 8:30 a.m.,it was very a informative and in depth hour long tour about the starting of the library and the building of it's present day location. The architecture and decorations would remind you of something you would see in Europe. After the tour was over we went across the street to the Capital via the underground tunnel. Our tour there started at 10:30 with a short film and then another hour long tour. This time everyone in our group wore headsets so that you could hear the tour guide among all the other people who visit the Capital building. My favorite was the rotunda, the paintings on the ceiling and around the room were beautiful. After that we made our way back to the car for some lunch and then we were off to the International Spy museum.
I really enjoyed this museum, and so did the children. The amount of history we learned while we were there was amazing.
To wrap it up, it was a great first day, with hardly any difficulties, and full of fun!
