Billy

Well after hearing from some of you that you missed seeing pictures of Billy on the blog, I started the digging process to find some of him. Well what I found was that we don't have many of him,
because of his self professed dislike of the camera!
Well later this week he was in a good mood and I got a few nice shots before he left for school!
Then later that day I had the opportunity to watch a home game for his soccer team, so I got even more!
In the game pictures he is in jersey 25.
Keep up the good work Billy! We Love you!!!

 Got his game face on!

Getting in on the action (he is the one on the far right)

Keep running!

My Family

A couple weeks ago our family took some much needed new Family Pictures.
The little children (who are not so little anymore!) have gotten much older and bigger since our
last picture. Noah did such an awesome job with these. I gotten a few comments from people
wanting to know if we had these professionally done! No, they are just proof of Noah's amazing
photography skills. They were taken in the evening in our back yard (more like the lane outback!).

Our Family is now back to our "normal" routine of daily life. The children are really enjoying their new School and Billy is loving being apart of the soccer team as well. Maybe soon I can get some pictures from a game of his. Also this week, I (Chloe) got a part time job at Keystone Wholesale Mall. It is the Wholesale warehouse that Dad has a booth at. I will be working 2 days a week, now to put a fire under me to keep at my Graphic Arts program online and finish it!! Noah is doing GREAT at his Nursing school, he really enjoys the SIM time and always has a funny story to share with us when we get home.
As for family news I think that is about it, I hope now that school is back in session that I can keep up this blog better, sorry for the LONG spaces between each post!

Falling Waters

Last week on the way home from a trip to Michigan, Noah and I went to tour Falling Waters.
Falling Waters is a home that was built from 1936-1939 for  Edgar J. Kaufmann and his wife.
The house was designed and built by Frank Lloyd Wright. The house is mostly built using cantilever design.
Noah and I, really enjoyed the hour long tour. Our tour was very informative and added lots of interesting tid' bits about Wright and his stubbornness to charge things for his clients! The property on which the house is situated is very beautiful and there are lots of hiking trails you can go on as well as touring the house.
For more information on the house and Frank Lloyd Wright you can visit the Falling Waters website here.
Below are some pictures of the outside of the house, since we were not allowed to take pictures of the inside.
Enjoy!

Louis Kahn Library

On Sunday I had the privilege of visiting the Philips Exeter Academy Library, in Exeter,NH with my cousin Matthew. It was design by the Famous Architect Louis Kahn.
Although he did not have a great personal life, his building are works of modern art.
The Library that we visited was amazing, every square foot was thoughtfully  planned out and used to it's best potential. Even though the middle of the building is an artium, open to all 6 floors, the library still has lots of space to hold the countless books and desk that are needed. Also there are private rooms on each floor and sitting areas. The desks are built into the windows. The staircases are tucked into 2 corners of the building, and one side holds 2 elevators as well. The natural light is amazing, it flows from the windows from the top of the library and from the 2 story windows on each floor. Also the O and X that appear in the Atrium are soo neat. But enough talking and here are some picture for you too see for your self. Also here is a link for you too learn more about the design and the Architect himself.

This was taken from the bottom floor looking up all 6 flight so stairs , pretty cool!

This is the other staircase on the oposite side of the building

We were able to touch books from the 1800's here, you don't get to do that often

This is looking out the top of one of those huge circles you saw in earlier pictures

Kahn liked to see the raw edges of his building materials, so none of the concert edges were covered

Looking down the side if the X from the sixth floor

here are the built in desks

These are study Models found in Kahn's office

Here are some floor plans that I found on Google images

I added an 60's filter over this picture, since that is the time that is was built, maybe some of the first pictures of the building looked like this!

This is a really cool video of the library, make sure to watch it

P.S. Thank you Matthew for taking me and for these pictures!
And check out my second post about Maine below.
