A Family Road Trip, Destination: Gettysburg

WARNING: This is a Very Long blog post. I can never decided how many pictures to put on so I put them all on! Well our family took a road trip on Saturday to visit the new Gettysburg's welcome Center. Since Gettysburg is only an hour and half away, it makes for a good day trip. We were under the impression that the museum and video were free. But we quickly found that not to be true when we arrived, and the sign said $10.00 per person. Well that ended our plan A. So we improvised, turning our lemons into lemonade. Billy,Ty, and Abby have never been around the battle field before so off we went on a self guided tour. Dad and Mom did a great job narrating and giving facts, and Noah and I would hop out at each stop to climb the never ending stairs! Our first stop was the tall observation tower. It must have been 3 stories tall. I thought Abby was going to be scared about half way up, but that was not the case! She was pulling ME up the stairs. At one point I didn't no if I could make it all the way. But it was well worth it, the views of the battle field were stunning. The next stop was little round top. It was neat to climb into the little Castle. Abby and Ty thought that was pretty neat. Our final stop was the Pennsylvania Memorial, which is more a building of a sort. While we were there we found a staircase that took you up to the top part of the building. Again the views were great.By the time we were done, my legs really hurt from going up and down all the stairs, but was worth it all. In all we had a great time rediscovering Gettysburg. I hope you enjoy the photos.
P.S. Thank You Noah for letting me use your ipod to take these pictures,I had so much fun!

Happy Belated Birthday Noah!

As I told you earlier, I skipped Noah's 18th birthday when I didn't blog in January.
So today I thought I would post the pictures of his Big Day!As you will notice from the pictures, we got Noah a photo cake, which if you know Noah and his love of Photography, you could see how that was the perfect choice. Also the picture on the cake( which he took) is of his beloved guitar. He also got the pleasure of spending his birthday with our Grandparents from NH.
That was very special! Also another exciting thing since I have last posted,
is that Noah got his drivers licences!
So if you live in PA watch out!
No,I am just kidding, Noah is a Great driver.
Enjoy the belated pictures.

The other party guests were sure glad to see the cake and ice cream!

Presidents Day

Yesterday was story and craft time for our local library, and since Presidents day is on Monday, that was the theme. The Lady read them two books, one on George Washington and one on Abraham Lincoln. For the craft the children made three corner hats like George Washington, and Log cabins like Abraham Lincoln's out of small milk cartons, frosting, pretzels, and paper. I think the children ate more frosting and pretzels than they put on there houses!
Dad had me take some pictures so I could share them with you, Enjoy a good laugh!

One of the houses magically disappeared before I took the photo,
I wonder if it ended up in someones tummy!

Billy is always very careful to mark what is his.
I thought this looked so cute, staking out his claim on "his" cabin

There sure is a lot of evidence on Ty's face of some finger lick'in!

Caught you Abby red handed with you fingers in your mouth,

how does the frosting taste?

Proud of the evenings accomplishments!

Happy Valentines Day!!

Well I am back! After a very busy January, which included unexpected sickness and recovery for some members of our family and our big wholesale show, I am back and ready to blog away!
In the past month I missed blogging about Noah's 18Th birthday,
which I might still sneak in this month!
But, back to the subject at hand, which is obviously Valentines day.
Even though valentines is normally a holiday for couples, Mom and Dad have always gotten each of us children a little sweet which ended up being Reese's Pieces in a plastic red heart.
This year they decided to go out for Dinner,
so Mom and I got together something special for our dinner here at home.
Lasagna (which I wish I could say I made!),peas, garlic bread, peaches, and sparkling grape juice (yes that is what is in the tall bottle).
Also for dessert our friends at the Bakery gave us there new Strawberry cream cake roll.
It on the same idea as a pumpkin roll except it is a white cake with strawberry and cream cheese filling. It was divine!

Happy Valentines Day!

Dad did a great job providing the decorations for the table,
Thanks Dad!

Oh Joy!

Ty is not an expert in the SMILE department!

"When can I open it ?"

This Year Noah had a Sweet Heart to share the day with,
His new ipod!

Where's dessert? I'm waiting.
